What Is Passive Time Tracking? (vs Manual Timers)

Passive time tracking records what you work on automatically, in the background, without you starting or stopping a timer. Instead of asking you to remember to track, the software watches the active window — the app, document, or site you're actually using — and turns that into time entries for you. It's also called automatic or "no-timer" time tracking.

The contrast is with manual time tracking, where you start a timer when you begin a task and stop it when you finish. Manual tracking is accurate when you remember to do it — and that's the problem.
